PowerPoint Tips

General Tips
Use the same transition throughout.
Be creative but leave the color choices to the experts.
Use outline form, rather than complete sentences.
Left justify all text.
Present 4-6 key points per slide.
Be consistent from slide to slide.
Choose traditional fonts unless a thematic purpose is present.
Keep font sizes consistent.
Don't write in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.
Italics are difficult to read.
Use strong contrasting colors:
light font on dark background or
dark font on light background.
Remember the larger the audience,
the larger the font should be.
Use boldface when you want some words to stand out. A few great graphics are better than many mediocre ones.
Having too much text defeats the purpose of your speaking.
The audience will be too busy reading or copying your slides to listen.
