Selecting Text Vertically

Purpose:

To select text in columns instead of rows.  In other words, to remove numbers from a written set of instructions.

1.		You have a numbered list of instructions.
2.		You select only the numbers and remove them. To do that, place the cursor before the numbers, hold down the ALT button, and drag the mouse to the right and then down to highlight all the numbers.
3.		Now that the numbers are highlighted, hit the Delete button and the numbers will be gone.
