Yearbook sales have been extended to Friday, March 13th at 3pm.  Please see Mrs. Graves for details.

Scholastic Bowl students will be leaving for regionals today at 2:35.  Please allow students to be dismissed. Meet by the teacher's lounge.

Attention all students: Fine Arts Festival is Thursday, March 12. Sign-ups are on the outside of the band room door. Guitars, banjos, vocals, stage acts, didgeridoos, woodwinds, brasswinds, etc...are all welcome to perform on the stage! The last day to sign up will be tomorrow, March 10th.  

The Rocket Locker is now in the library! Students, please feel free to take anything you need! The life skills team would like to thank everyone who donated to the Rocket Locker. We received so many donations! 

Juniors: Please turn in your SAT permission slips as soon as possible. If you need another sheet please see Mrs. Mills.

Congratulations to the FFA Vet Science team who placed 14th in the state at Saturday's Contest. Marie Baxley was the high individual on the team placing 13th in the state. The team was also section champions.

The Unity Archery Team had a good showing at the Charger Classic tournament at Champaign Centennial on Saturday. High male individuals were Clay Dailey and Caleb Williams and high Females include Destiny Williamson and Cerra Thompson. Clay had a score of 275 out of a possible 300 and placed 37th for high school males putting him in the top 80% of contestants. Members of the archery team are eligible to compete for Unity after completing the archery unit in the Natural Resources class. 

The Girls Track and Field had a great day at the Charger Invite on Saturday.  The Rockets tied for 5th as a team against some of the state's best teams in all classes.  Scoring points for the Rockets was the 4x800 team of Sophia Stierwalt, Kaitlyn Reedy, Emma Stratton, and Krystal Crossin, Kylie Decker placing 2nd in the 1600 and 3200.  Harper Hancock was 6th in the 1600, Anna Clark was 4th in the 3200, Maci Kraft was 6th in the Long Jump and all 3 Rockets scored in the Shot Put with Aliyah McDaniel 1st, Aly Bagwell 4th, and Kay Fridline 6th.  Aliyah once again broke her own school record with a throw of 44'7".  That moves her up to 15th nationally.  The Rockets will be at the U of I again on Thursday night for their last meet of the year at the Armory.

Be sure to place your order for your 2020 Student Council Week shirt in the office!  Shirts are $10, and all proceeds will be donated to St. Jude’s and local charities.  Orders are due by Wednesday, March 11, and you don’t have to pay until they are in.

 

Attention Students:  This year's blood drive will take place during Student Council week, on April 1.  There are parental consent forms for you to pick up in the office--even if you are 18, please fill out a form.  Forms are due by 3 PM on March 27 to the main office or Mrs. Meyer.

Congratulations to the "Front of the Lunchline" winners:  4B lunch Evelyn Atkins and 4C lunch Abel Jeurissen.   Please pick up your passes from Mrs. Meyer before lunch.

Unity FCA Huddle will meet THIS Wednesday at 7:15 am in the drivers’ ed. room. Bring a friend and come have some fun. Breakfast will be provided.

Congratulations to the Science Olympiad team and their performance at Regionals this past saturday! Special congratulations to the Codebusters, Disease Detectives, Ornithology, Water Quality and Write It Do It Teams who all medalled in their divisions! Way to go Rocket Scientists!
