4th Quarter East Update

View the newsletter and calendar here

Near the 1-year anniversary of the pandemic that has changed so many things about how we operate, we would like to say thank you to our families and community for your support, your understanding, and the partnership that has allowed our school to continue working with our students this year. We do great things together!

Events & Announcements

  • 20-21 yearbooks are on sale, with an approaching order deadline of March 19. Yearbook orders are online only at ybpay.lifetouch.com with Yearbook ID Code: 13565621. The order may appear as “Unity West” since our schools do a combined yearbook - that is normal.

  • 3rd Quarter report cards will be sent home after Spring Break on Friday, March 26.

  • Our second annual Unity East Read-a-thon was a great success. Students read over 107,000 minutes and raised over $12,000 in support for our school. Thank you to everyone who helped and who contributed to our Read-a-thon!

  • Kindergarten information is currently available on the Unity East website under Menu → Kindergarten Orientation. Kindergarten is open to students turning 5 by September 1, 2021. An online Kindergarten Orientation meeting for parents will be held in May.

  • Students in grades 3-5 will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness the week of April 19. We ask that appointments and absences for students be limited as much as possible this week.

  • Weather permitting, Unity East will enjoy field day activities on Friday, April 23, to celebrate students hard work and enjoy outdoor activities and spring weather.

Reminders

  • Please send your student with an extra mask in their backpack. The office has a limited supply of extra masks to hand out at this time.

  • All students have a yellow COVID-19 Self-Certification Card. Parents/guardians must initial the yellow card every morning before sending or bringing their child to school or putting them onto a bus, certifying that their child does NOT have a fever and is symptom free.

In Partnership,

Mr. Carver, Principal
