As Billy Joel once said, “No matter what culture you’re from, everyone loves music.” Returning from a brief intermission, Unity Vocal Rush is happy to announce the arrival of this year's Fall Showcase! On Saturday, November 6th at 2pm and 7pm, the Polly Anderson Auditorium will be hosting performances by Vocal Rush and Surreal Sound, as well as a special guest performance from Coach Reed during the 7pm show. Come support our performers and enter in a variety of raffles, such as a chance to win seats for an Illini basketball game or tickets to the John Deere Classic PGA tournament! Doors open at 1:30 for the 2:00 show and at 6:30 for the 7:00 show. Tickets are sold at the door and in the canteen during lunch hours for $10 each. Join us on Saturday in celebrating these students’ talent and hard work, as well as sharing a universal love of music!

Sophomores, please sign up to work the concession stand at the football game on Saturday! We have plenty of spots available!

Softball players-please see Coach Davis today!

Looks like one of our newest teacher's really wants to win that breakfast!  Mrs. Reinhart is currently in the lead with $201.55!!!  Mr. Krafcisin is in second place with $64, Mr. Kleiss is in third at $61, and bringing up the rear are Mr. Cardiff, Mrs. Meyer, and Mrs. Miller with $26, $24.56, and $23.85 respectively.  We have a week left to raise money for Thanksgiving Food Boxes for needy families in the Unit 7 Community and to win a breakfast for one first hour class!!  Clean out your car consoles and bring in your quarters, dimes, nickels, pennies, and even BILLS of any denomination!!

Congratulations to the FFA Ag Sales team for winning the district competition. Olivia Shike and Malia Fairbanks both won their judging rooms while Philip Hartke placed 2nd with his judge and Cameran Hansen finished 3rd in her room. The team advances to the state contest later this month.

Congratulations to Mrs. Graves for receiving the News-Gazette Teacher of the Week!  A picture is being taken of Mrs. Graves for the paper tomorrow and she would like to share it with students.  If you have been helped in any way by Mrs. Graves, please meet in the library tomorrow at 8:10 am to show the subscribers why she won this honor!
