Welcome Back, Unity Families!
As we open the 2025–2026 school year, I want to officially welcome all of our students, families, and staff back to Unit Seven Schools. Whether you're returning for another great year or joining our district for the first time, we’re thrilled to have you here and part of the Unity community.
This is always an exciting time—hallways are shining, classrooms are stocked with fresh supplies, and teachers and staff are energized to get started. The beginning of the year brings so much hope and potential, and across our schools, that momentum is building.
We’re entering this year with a strong team and several new faces in key leadership roles:
Amber Behrends joins us as the new Junior High Principal. Amber brings a solid background in educational leadership and a student-focused approach. While she’s new to Unity, she’s already making great connections with staff and students.
Darin O’Connell is the new Principal at Unity West Elementary. Darin brings a great balance of experience, warmth, and enthusiasm to the West team.
Patrick Striegel, a well-known and respected longtime teacher and coach in our district, is taking over as our Athletic Director. He knows what it means to be a Rocket and is committed to supporting all of our student-athletes.
Christina White, another familiar and highly respected educator in Unity, is now serving as our new Curriculum Director. Her leadership will help us align and strengthen instruction from Pre-K through 12th grade.
These new additions bring energy, ideas, and deep commitment to kids. I truly believe we are in a great place to continue growing as a district.
As always, we’re focused on creating safe, supportive, and engaging learning environments in every building. We are continually looking for ways to improve and evolve—and we’re excited for what’s ahead.
