This November 11th, Unity West will be honoring our local Veterans for Veteran’s Day. We will serve breakfast, have special appearances from different grade levels, and do an honor walk around the building. We would love to have as many Veterans as possible attend. Oct. 29th from 5:00p-6:30p. Come enjoy a fun family night at the very first Unity West Fall Festival. We will have hayrack rides, pumpkin painting, face painting, free food, bounce houses, yard games, and touch-a-truck! Parking will be available in front of the building, on the west side of the building (MARKED PARKING SPOTS ONLY) and in the grass lot on the east side of the building by West Woods. We encourage students to come in their costumes!

Unity West would like to give a big shout out to Mr. Floyd Fisher. Mr. Fisher has been instrumental in the transition of new leadership. If you know Mr. Fisher, you know he always has a joke to tell or a smart comment to make. Mr. Fisher brings personality, big ideas, and is the voice of West(morning announcements). Unity Families: Due to the dangerously cold wind chills expected tomorrow, Unit 7 will be utilizing an E-Learning day on Tuesday, January 21. Schools will be in touch with more details about E-Learning procedures, so keep an eye on your email and school communication channels.

4th Graders from East had a great field trip on Friday. They started the day visiting the Champaign County Courthouse to view the Abraham Lincoln musueum and meet with courthouse staff to learn about the judicial process. After a stop at the park for lunch they visited Reflections Memory Care in Savoy for an inter-generational visit where they enjoyed time with the residents and shared several rounds of bingo. Great job representing Unity, 4th grade!

Unit 7 is seeking a dedicated Social Worker or School Counselor who can truly make a difference for our students, and we’d love your help in finding the right person!
If you or someone you know has experience with at-risk populations, counseling students, and conducting 504 evaluations, we want to hear from you. Our ideal candidate is passionate, compassionate, and ready to be a key player in our school community. Additionally, they must meet the Illinois certification requirements for a school counselor or school social worker.
We’re open to considering a part-time arrangement if that fits someone’s schedule better.

Open House for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade parents and students is from 4:30-5:30pm. Please remember to bring student schedules with you for locker combinations, etc. This is a great time to set up lockers, drop off supplies, pay fees in person, or drop of forms to the school nurse. UJHS will not be open on tomorrow morning due to an all-district in-service.
