  • East is holding our fifth annual Read-a-thon to encourage reading and raise support for our student and family events. For two weeks in January, students will participate in reading sessions with their class and be encouraged to do additional reading at home. Information about the program and fundraiser will be sent home ahead of our start date on January 12.

  • The East PTO is hosting a Bowling Bash at Old Orchard on Friday, February 2 from 6:30-9:30. More information will come out about how to participate and support the event!

  • Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, February 22, from 3:00-9:30pm. Sign-up links will be emailed and posted on the East website the first week of February.

  • Save the date for our 4th & 5th grade music concert on Thursday, February 29 at 7:00pm.

  • Students in grades 3-5 will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness the week of April 11-14. We ask that appointments and absences for students be limited as much as possible this week.

  • East has received several donations from our community that we want to recognize. A special thank you to the Longview Bank, our local churches, and community members for their continued support of our Rocket Pack program, for providing Christmas gifts for some of our families, and for donations toward lunch account balances of our students. We are truly grateful for the support of our community!

Reminders

  • Please be sure to send your child with the necessary cold-weather gear for outside recess. When snow is on the ground students need snow boots to walk in the snow and snow pants to climb on snow piles.

In Partnership,

Mr. Carver, Principal
