Read-a-thon

Our Read-a-thon has started! The weather is crummy, which is a great reason to settle in and read a book this long weekend!

We've chosen a Read-a-thon because it is simple, successful, and encourages our students to spend time reading.

If you have not already done so, please click on (or copy and paste) this link to activate your reader’s personal page: https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/323738323936

Setting up the account does NOT require any donation. It does allow you to help your reader track minutes outside school so they can reach a reading goal and earn some fun prizes.

We hope everyone is able to participate and have an enjoyable experience!

Rewards:

Read 250 minutes = Earn a Snack Pass

Read 500 minutes = Earn Ice Cream at Lunch

Read 1000 minutes = Earn Pizza Party & Movie Pass

*students will read 20-30 min in class each day. If they read 50-60min each day outside school (in the car, on the bus, before bed...) they can achieve this goal. Track their reading!

Raise $100 in donations = Earn a Movie Pass

Raise $250 in donations = Earn a Pizza Party

Send 10 texts = Receive a Bookmark

Post of Facebook = Receive a Homework Pass

How does this event benefit Unity East?

Our annual Read-a-thon is the primary fundraiser for Unity East and the donations directly benefit our students and classrooms.

Donations pay for our family night events, field trip fees, assemblies, guest speakers, field day supplies, and rewards such as Kona Ice visits, popcorn, and pizza parties.

These funds also provide for classroom supplies, such as books for classroom libraries, new technology, and program subscriptions such as Accelerated Reader, Starfall, Kahoot!, and GoNoodle.

We find this to be one of the easiest fundraisers for our families. By activating your reader’s personal page and using the promotional tools found there, friends and family anywhere in the world can show their support for your reader and our school by making a donation.

Thank you for your support!
